PAT Testing you say... What's involved then?

When you book an appointment with our engineer, we will check the following: Lightbulb Check all appliances as stated in the booking Lightbulb Check for frayed wires, faulty plugs etc... Lightbulb Ensure all agreed appliances are tested to standard.
We also provide you with a fully detailed certificate once the PAT testing has reached a successful conclusion.

What happens if one or more appliance items fails the PAT Test?

If your appliances fail the PAT test, a FAIL sticker will be applied to it.
The responsibility then lies with yourselves to replace any item that falls under the fail category.
Once you have replaced any previously failed appliances, you can contact us again to carry out a re-test to give your workplace that full bill of health.
Please Note: Any re-testing of your appliances carry an additional charge.

How much do you charge for PAT Testing?

All PAT Tests carried out are subject to the number of appliances and electrical items you would like to have tested.

Can't we just carry out the tests ourselves?

Anyone can PAT test providing they are trained and qualified to do so.
You have to bear in mind that the money and time spent training your staff to carry out the tests, not to mention purchasing the PAT Testing kit and other software, you could have that done by westos-electrical, leaving you to focus on the business.

How long is a PAT Test valid for?

Once an appliance or piece of electrical equipment has passed, it is valid for one year from the date on the sticker. There is also a date on the sticker to remind you of the expiration of the item.
